My Fine Art Photos photography and art have been a lifelong individual pursuit for Tom and Angela Mattey and now they have combined their talents to bring to you their vision of nature in Oregon and the Pacific Coast. They feel that when you raise the camera up to your eye, pursuing the correct light and angle, there is an instant bond with nature that brings out the inner beauty of the earth and its wonders to the viewer in the form of “Fine Art Photos”.
Angela Mattey is an award winning professional artist with a degree from the Dayton Art Institute who studied with many of the same professors as Jonathan Winters. She taught art and owned two studios in the Phoenix, AZ area, painting and working with over a hundred students a week for many years. People from all over the country have purchased and treasured her oil paintings, watercolors, and china painted and kiln fired porcelain. Angela’s first paying job was with Olan Mills Photographic Studio as a line artist, hand colorizing sepia photographs in the early 1960’s. Her part time work to finance college was working as a darkroom retouch artist for a portrait photographer.
Tom Mattey began photography in the eighth grade to collect enough photos for a class year book. His photographic talents continued through high school in Lorain, Ohio as he photographically worked with more yearbooks and school events. With three generations of his family being directly involved in the movie business he developed a trained eye for color, composition and subject matter. After graduating from the University of Dayton as a teacher of science he spent many summer months traveling and photographing the abundant natural beauty of the United States, Mexico and Caribbean Islands. His keen eye and artistic design brought him an owner builder award from Josephine County for his recently completed residence in 2003.
